No Comments Day 9 – 22/05/2010 Washington DC
Today my mission was to tackle the Smithsonian Air and Science museum.
According to the site “the Smithsonian Institution, the world’s largest museum complex and research organization composed of 19 museums, 9 research centers, and the National Zoo.”
They’re all free but there’s no way you can do them all even if I did have the inclination so I thought I’d just pick the most interesting, in my case the Air and Science museum.
I got on one of the tours which covered just a small section of the museum but still took an hour and a half. That in itself was really interesting and good to know that pretty much everything there was the real thing, including the Wright Flyer and a stack of other renowned aircraft.
I finished the day by going out to Georgetown with Chris. We went to ‘the waterfront’, a bar on the river much like a holiday bar next to a pool. Fancy surroundings, it was really nice.
I’ve no idea where we ended up but it was good fun all the same.
